You can now spread beer on your morning toast

LONDON —  When you’re starting your day, a beer is probably the last thing you want. Unless, of course, you’re trying the old ‘hair of the dog’ technique.

Well, one Scottish independent brewer is having none of that.

Innis & Gunn has combined its oak-aged India pale ale (IPA) with Dundee marmalade to create Marm & Ale, which they say is the world’s first ever beer marmalade. 

To make the ‘spreadable beer’, beer is added to the marmalade mixture during the boiling process to provide hoppy accents to the marmalade’s typical orangey flavour.  Read more…
