Protestors rally in North Carolina after police shoot and kill black man

Around 300 protesters rallied in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Monday after a white police officer fatally shot a 24-year-old black man named Akiel Denkins earlier that day

Residents say Denkins was unarmed, while Raleigh Police Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown said police found a gun close to the man’s body, according to local reports

Senior Officer D.C. Twiddy was trying to arrest Denkins for a felony drug charge, according to The News and Observer, which cites police. He killed Denkins by PJ’s Grill & Groceries, on Bragg Street.
