Opinion/Notes: The old logo was painful, with its useless swoosh and combination of extra tight letterspacing in “North Shore” and extra loose in “LIJ” that instead of downplaying what it spelled out, Long Island Jewish, made it stand out more. Starting with the new name that is less specific about location, the logo is a strong improvement. The multi arrow device isn’t the most exciting thing to happen to healthcare identity but it’s an active icon with good energy to it. I like how the triangle echoes the top counterspace of the “N”. The coloring is kind of odd; for some reason they’ve divided the arrows in sets of four and did a monochrome coloring on each. The wordmark is nice and unassuming. The applications are decent and the detail of the white notch on the bottom left of the photograph works well to repeat the triangle motif. The overlaid triangles though, not too sure about those but they do add a bit of pop. Overall, not bad. Appropriate for the industry and a clear improvement over the old.
