Chinese boy cuts off his finger after dad scolds him for using his phone too much

An 11-year-old boy from Suzhou, China, has made national headlines after he deliberately cut off his finger following a quarrel with his father.
The boy, who is referred to as Xiaopeng by the Chinese media, was fed up with his father’s nagging over his smartphone usage, reported several local news outlets.
According to Xiaopeng’s parents, they had not expected their son to react this way to their lecture.
Both parents were not pleased that their son had been glued to his phone since he woke up Saturday morning, the day of the fateful incident. They felt that Xiaopeng was setting a bad example for his 6-year-old brother. Read more…
