Calais protesters detonate smoke bombs outside French embassy event in London

LONDON — Protestors descended on Shoreditch House in east London on Tuesday night, while the French ambassador in London was speaking at an event, to voice their anger at the clearing of the migrant and refugee camp at Calais.

The group let off smoke bombs and unfurled banners at the protest, which was timed to coincide with the launch of Creative France, Business France’s new campaign aimed at promoting creativity in the country.
