Bryce Harper hit a home run in his opening at bat of Major League Baseball‘s 2016 Opening Day.
But he saved his best shot for after the game.
Harper, a 23-year-old superstar for the Washington Nationals, sits at the crux of a tired debate about baseball’s so-called “unwritten rules.” Many old-timers (ahem, Goose Gossage) feel celebrations and showing actual emotion during sporting events “disrespect” the game and opponents.
