British man charged £102 for a very windy Uber journey home

LONDON — Imagine waking up in a post-night out fog, leaning over to check your phone and discovering an email politely informing you that you paid £102 to get home.
Now imagine opening up your Uber app to discover this.

According to Google Maps, the distance between the green dot and the red dot pictured above is four miles and the route should take 25 minutes (16 minutes without traffic).
For Londoner Daniel Kaizen, though — who took an Uber home on Sunday after going out in Old Street to celebrate the last day of his cocktail bar job, according to BBC Newsbeat — things took quite a bit longer. Read more…
