Bangkok is the second-most congested city in the world

Thailand’s capital is known for being among some of the more congested cities in Southeast Asia, but a new study has now placed its traffic jams second just behind Mexico City.
According to Dutch navigation firm TomTom, Bangkok’s traffic moves 57% slower on average compared with a clear road situation. During morning peak hours, it slows to a further 85%, and a snail-like 114% in the evening.
Evening traffic can result in jams for hours.

Mexico City, in first place, has traffic chugging at 59% slower on average, but never reaches the kind of pace that Bangkok does during its peaks. Mexico City peaks at 97% in the morning, and 94% in the evenings. Read more…
