Australians, it's still safe to go to Ireland despite what you've been told

Although once besieged by troubles in the past, Ireland is arguably as stable and safe as any other developed country around the world.
However, recent warnings issued by the Australian government’s foreign affairs department beg to differ. It’s left many Irish confused and looking out their windows to figure out if there’s anarchy on the streets.
According to Smart Traveller, a government site that posts travel advice for Australians, Ireland has a “moderate” level of serious, violent crime. This was upgraded on Apr. 11 from what was previously listed as a low level in March. Read more…
