Apple tells court FBI is seeking 'dangerous power'

Apple Inc. has asked a federal magistrate to vacate her order that it help the FBI hack into a locked iPhone. The company said in a court filing Thursday that the FBI is seeking “dangerous power” through the courts.
The 65-page motion, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, raises several constitutional issues as Apple seeks to avoid creating specialized software to help investigators access a phone once used by the perpetrators in December’s San Bernardino shooting.
Apple’s arguments raise several constitutional issues under the First and Fifth Amendments. Read more…
