Bills that attack transgender people don't keep anyone safe

In many ways, 2015 was a year of great progress for transgender equality — so great, in fact, that some dubbed it a “transgender tipping point” due to the increased level of public awareness surrounding trans issues. 

Indeed, we saw more transgender celebrities step into the public eye, and the experiences of some transgender people finally garnered greater attention from larger audiences.

Not all of the news for many transgender Americans was positive. Tragically, 2015 saw the highest rates of anti-transgender violence — particularly against transgender women of color — on record in our nation’s history.  Read more…
