Bernie Sanders works to strengthen black support ahead of South Carolina vote

ATLANTA — With precious time left until South Carolina voters head to the polls, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is working to draw black voters into his “political revolution.”
Here in Atlanta and in several appearances across South Carolina, Sanders put himself forward as the candidate who could best combat institutional racism and reform police departments around the country.
“Together we are going to end the horrors that we have seen time and time again on TV of unarmed African-Americans being shot and killed by police officers,” Sanders told the crowd.
