Apple responds to FBI iPhone hack: ‘This case should never have been brought’

Following the withdrawal of a court order for Apple to help crack the San Bernardino shooter’s iPhone after the FBI said it had managed to unlock it on its own, the company has issued a statement, which reads as follows: From the beginning, we objected to the FBI’s demand that Apple build a backdoor into the iPhone because we believed it was wrong and would set a dangerous precedent.
