American Airlines thinks its Wi-fi could be faster, too

If you’ve been on an American Airlines flight recently and thought the Wi-Fi could have been better, the airline agrees with you.

American filed a suit in district court in Texas last week, claiming its in-flight Wi-Fi provider Gogo is not as fast as competitor ViaSat, which provides connectivity on JetBlue, Virgin America and United.

“After carefully evaluating the new technology and services in the marketplace, American has decided to exercise its rights under the Agreement and recently notified Gogo that ViaSat offers an in-flight connectivity system that materially improves on Gogo’s air-to-ground system,” the lawsuit says, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
